The Penny Box DIY Speaker Kit

The Penny Box DIY Kit is a high-performance, portable powerhouse. We provide the partially assembled electronics engine, including premium drivers, hand-built battery pack, wire harnesses and all needed hardware, and you print the tuned enclosure using our included files.

The Specs

At the core of this build is a high-powered Class-D Amplifier with DSP tuning, delivering 100 watts of total power. This isn’t just “loud”, it’s clean.

• The Low End: We’ve equipped this kit with a premium 5.25″ Woofer featuring a massive 9.5mm of Xmax. This extreme excursion allows the driver to move more air than almost any other speaker in its class, resulting in physical, chest-thumping bass.

• The Mids – Highs: Paired with an ultra-linear Full-Range Driver, you’ll experience a transparent soundstage with highs that remain undistorted all the way up to 20,000Hz.

Acoustics Meets 3D Innovation

The enclosure is more than just a box, it’s a precision instrument.

• Custom-Ported Design: The printable cabinet features a mathematically optimized port tuned to an incredible 40Hz. This tuning allows the 5.25″ driver to reach deep into the bass frequencies usually reserved for much larger home theater setups.

• Portability: The build design features an integrated handle built directly into the enclosure.

We have done the heavy lifting so you don’t have to. The electrical system comes partially pre-assembled, soldered, and ready to install.

• 6,000mAh Battery: Enjoy hours of playback at high volumes with our high-capacity lithium-ion Battery.

• Bi-Directional Fast Charging: Equipped with a modern USB-C interface, you can fast-charge the speaker in record time. But it doesn’t stop there, the bi-directional circuitry allows you to use the Penny Box as a power bank to fast-charge your smartphone, tablet, or camera on the fly.

⚠️ Printer Requirement: This is a large, high-volume enclosure. You will need a 3D printer with a minimum build volume of 256mm x 256mm (e.g., Bambu Lab X1/P1 series, Creality K1 Max, or Prusa XL). It will not fit on standard 220mm printers (Ender 3/Prusa MK4). Not recommended to print on open air 3D printers due to warpage.
