Refund and Return Policy

At Penny Box Audio, we want you to love your build. However, because our products are DIY kits containing electronic components and digital files, we have specific guidelines for returns and refunds.
1. Return Window
Our return policy lasts 30 days from the date your kit is delivered. If 30 days have passed since delivery, we cannot offer you a refund or exchange.
2. Eligibility for Returns (Read Carefully)
To be eligible for a return, your kit must be in UNBUILT condition.
- Electronics: All components (amplifier, drivers, wires) must be sealed and unopened.
- Assembly: If you have attempted to solder, glue, screw, or assemble any part of the kit, it is no longer eligible for return. We cannot resell used electronic components.
- Batteries: Due to shipping regulations regarding Lithium-Ion batteries, please DO NOT attempt to ship the battery pack back to us without contacting us first. Shipping batteries requires specific labeling and carrier protocols.
3. Non-Refundable Items
- Digital Files (STLs): The digital 3D print files included with your purchase are non-refundable. If you choose to return a physical kit that included digital access, a $25 fee for the digital files will be deducted from your refund amount.
- Gift Cards: Gift cards are non-refundable.
4. Defective or Damaged Parts (Warranty)
We stand by the quality of our components. If a part arrives damaged or is effectively “Dead on Arrival” (DOA), we will replace it free of charge.
- Please email us at pennyboxaudio.com with photos of the damaged part.
- Note: This warranty covers manufacturing defects only. It does not cover damage caused by user error during assembly (e.g., reversing polarity, shorting the battery, or damage from soldering).
5. Pre-Order Cancellations
Since our kits are currently on pre-order:
- You may cancel your pre-order for a full refund at any time before the item has shipped.
- Once the shipping label has been created, standard return policies apply.
6. Refunds Process
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item.
- If approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment within 5-10 business days.
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of the original shipping will be deducted from your refund.
7. Shipping Your Return
To return your product, please contact us first to receive a Return Authorization.
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. We recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
