Handcrafted Sound

I’ve been building speakers for as long as I can remember. Even from a very young age, there was something addictive about wiring up a driver, sealing a box, and hearing that first note of music come to life. What started as a childhood hobby, messing around with spare parts and scrap wood and old car battery’s slowly evolved into an obsession with acoustic perfection.

As I grew, so did my craving for better audio. “Good enough” stopped being enough. I found myself constantly chasing a sound that was more powerful, and more detailed. I wanted to hear the grit in a vocal and feel the sub-bass in my chest.

My obsession with speakers has taken me from the heavy-hitting bass of car audio to the transparent detail of home hi-fi. I realized there was a gap in the portable market for something that actually sounded elite, so I decided to bridge it myself. That’s why the Penny Box exists.
